Mercedes achieve another 1-2 in qualifying, with Valtteri Bottas completing his hat-trick of poles. This has been a dominating performance from Bottas considering his difference with Lewis being over six-tenth. Vettel finished 3rd in a rather subdued Ferrari performace, although they cannot be blamed for strategy this time or for lack of trying.
Haas have finally managed to put in a strong performance after two disappointing outings finishing P7 and P8. RedBull of Max Verstappen has split the Ferrari’s finishing P4. Kvyat and Ricciardo completed the top 10. Ricciardo will be moving three places down as a penalty from last race. The rest of the mid fields is bunched up as usual and it promises a good fight among them.
This does not look good for Ferrari who had brought upgrades and are already down 74 points. Can they have a good start? Will they deploy a winning strategy? Are we in for another Merc 1-2? Can Max throw in a surprise? All these will be answered tomorrow and we hope for a very eventful race.
